What’s included in an Exterior Detail?
– Paint –
Exterior Detailing is all about cleaning the outside of your car. First we cover the car in foam to capture the dirt. Then we rinse it off. We then cover it in foam again and wash it with a detailing mitt. The first foam is to capture the microscopic pieces of dirt so that when we apply pressure they don’t scratch the paint. After washing, we rinse off, and depending on the level of service, we might add certain chemicals to boost longevity and add protection.
– Wheels –
We then move on to the wheels. We spray them with foam, then rinse, then foam again and then we wash. We use several different types of brushes, some long some short, to ensure that that we get the entire wheel. When then finish them off by applying what’s called a tire dressing. Think of this like conditioner for your hair. It resotres color and prevents cracking by restoring the rubber bond of the tire.
